My New Do!

8 Miler

Today was my long run. I woke up late and I really thought I should skip it. But I had no legit excuse. And if I didn't go today, I'd have to do this all over again tomorrow. So I got up and moving. I did one of my favorite routes. It was chilly and windy to start. But by mile 2, is warmed up and found my happy pace.


And when I finished I was so glad I got up and ran. My day was 1000 times better because of it.

Girls Night Out

Jeff was at a day long meeting so after work L and I went to watch 'Insurgent'. It's the second movie to Divergent. Man, was it good!!! We both loved it. Lots of action which kept us at the end of our seats.

I Got to Meet Lisa See!!!

This week our local bookstore hosted Lisa See. She is a wonderful author who has written 9 novels. Her books are focused on Chinese and Chinese-American girls and include Peony in Love, Dreams of Joy, China Dolls to name a few.



She talked for about 45 minutes. It amazes me how much research goes into her novels. She was witty and very interesting!


She even signed my book and took a photo op!

Oh the Fluffiness

I love spending time with Reggie. She's so appreciative of all the attention. She loves to hang out with me while I read in the bedroom. She purrs so loudly, she makes me smile every time.


And then there's those floofy toes. Nice and pink pads as the princess does not ever go outside and get dirty. My sweet girl.

Run 2 Believe

This past Saturday, Dan and I ran the Run2Believe 5K. Dan's goal was to run it all and I was happy to hang out with him. We did run the whole way in 38 minutes! We were thrilled!

Party Time!

L wanted a couple friends over to spend the night. Jeff and I thought it would be fun to stay in a hotel. We picked them up in the afternoon, headed to the hotel and got some swimming and hot tubbing time in.





The hotel has a wonderful evening spread. We dined on hot dogs, Mac and cheese, nachos, etc.


Her cookie cake. She's really into the TMNT.


Our view. After supper the girls watched movies until 4:30 AM!!! They were tired when I woke them up at 9. :)

Party Like a Rock Star

L's birthday sister Liv (they were born the same day hours apart) had a rock star 10th birthday party. Pizza, drinks and then a limo ride.


L said they sang, got drinks at QT, went to Krispy Kreme and had a fresh donut and had so much fun.

The Big Dance

WSU is a 7 seed playing Indiana Friday and if they (and KU) win Friday, on Sunday we will get to watch something that hasn't happened since 1981-WSU vs KU. But the selection committee wants you to know that's not an accident. Yea-I don't believe that. BUT I'm excited they are playing.
The Washington Post made all these emojis for the teams. I love them.


UCLA squeezed in as a bubble team with an 11 seed. Proud them too!

6 miler

Sunday I ran 6 miles. The weather was nice.



My route. It's a favorite because it combines neighborhoods with main streets.


It's amazing how fast 6 miles goes especially when you're used to running 16-20 miles.

Last Saturday, South High girls did what no Kansas girls basketball team had done before. They won their 3rd straight 6A basketball championship.



The fans were great.





They were so excited. And we were so proud of them.

Early Present

This week is supposed to be nice so we opted to give L her birthday present early. Her old bike is too small and she is finally strong enough to enjoy riding. So she asked for green, a kickstand and off road tires.
We obliged.

Social media does throwback Thursday just for kicks. L brought this poster home tonight. It's from kindergarten. Oh my!! She is so adorable!!! I gushed so much she got embarrassed.

A Miracle Happened

Look! Look!!!



Last night Reggie was laying on our bed and didn't want to leave when the dogs were coming in for the night. I fair warned her and she didn't move. So I thought, okay we will try this out. They hung out for 15-20 minutes. Lucy really wanted her to play. Oreo stood like a statue watching her (probably thinking WTF?).





After awhile she was done and left. I am quite impressed.

Odyssey Dance Competition

L and her hip hop class danced to LA Love last night. They rocked it and earned a platinum award (highest) for their age and category and second place for their age.

Recovery Run

I'm feeling better. The weather has been gorgeous here. So nice I couldn't deny a run outside. I went out hoping for 3-5 miles and I finished 3 miles. My right ankle was bugging me a little. I need to work and get it stretched out more.

Making it Up

Girl Scout homework this week was to make something with Girl Scout cookies. L decided to add a sleeve of thin mints to brownie mix. They turned out really yummy!!

Sleeps Like a Boss

Reggie sleeps using the whole halfway like she is completely tuckered out. She makes me smile.

Titans Qualify for State

We got to watch the boys basketball team. They won 52-43.



This is the first time they've gone to State in 15 years!!!
