My 2010 Goals

Wow. I looked at these goals today. I'm not sure that I am doing well on them.

1. Write a letter to a friend. Done that once so far this year. Made her day.

2. Lose weight by eating better and exercising more. The diet...watched me eat it all. Exercise, I'm not doing too bad at.

3. Spend wisely. Hmm...too many cute clothes and scrapbook stuff. I have put myself on a spending freeze.

4. Relax at home. I am trying to do this. I would be more successful if I could figure out how to get L to go to bed at 9 and stay in her room.

5. Have patience. Yeah, not so much this past month. Gotta keep working on it.

6. Keep my blog updated. Hmm....I would say 7 posts in a month isn't really cutting it.

Our new camp digs

This post is more informational for those going camping with us Memorial Day weekend. The lake is near Council Grove. This picture is a view not far from our site.
The limestone rock (this is for you Terri)
There is a playground close by (about 300 yards from the shelter)
A view from our site (yep, those are cows in the background)
Another view while standing at the site You can see the parking spaces. The trees edge our site, then there's a little road and the "beach" and water.
The bathrooms...3 toilets each and showers. No soap. Need to put that on the list.
The shelter. It's huge and the tables are not nailed down so they can be moved. There's plenty of lights and 5 electrical outlets.
A view of the parking spaces and start of the tent spaces. It's partially shaded.
Another view of the shelter. In the corner, you can see the tan building. That's the bathrooms.

Just beyond these trees is the water. I think we're pretty well secluded yet there are some camp sites down the road.

Ode to Haley

RIP Haley 1/1/97-4/18/10.

Our beloved Haley. You spent 13 years with us and stole our hearts from the beginning. We are grateful for all the "mothering" you gave L, the laughs we had about the things you did, and the tears for all the obstacles you faced. We love you so much and are just happy that you are at peace.
Love, your mom, dad and L

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was busy!!! Unfortunately, these pictures are backwards so I'll start from the end. On Sunday afternoon, we went to the big park for a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. It was windy, but L was still able to collect a lot of candy.
Yumm.....the Easter bunny was good to me. Look at all of that chocolate (and I'm not sharing any of the Reesters).
L was excited that the Easter bunny showed up. He gave her a new stuffed bunny, some clothes, hair ties and tons of candy!
On Saturday, we headed to C-ville and spent the day with great grandma and grandpa B and Uncle Ken. The day was beautiful. L spent a big part of the day playing with the neighbor girls, but she took a few minutes to go on an Easter egg hunt.

L's First Soccer Game

L is in pre-k spring soccer this year. The first game of the season was COLD! It was 55 degrees and soooo windy! Despite that, L had a great time. She likes kicking the ball. We'll see how the rest of the season goes.

Build a Bear party

The following day, we had L's party at Build a Bear. She and 8 other kids joined in on an hour's worth of fun. They picked out their bear (or bunny, puppy, you get the picture), stuffed it, cleaned it and dressed it. They had a great time. L got to lead the group in Simon Says.
After the kids made their animals, we headed to the food court for presents and cake. L picked out this cute Little Pet Shop cake. It was delicious!
The kids are so excited about present time. They love to "help" each other out by unwrapping gifts. It's quite funny.

Birthday Celebrations

L had a couple birthday parties. The first was a "grown up" party. Since we don't have family close, we invited our friends and had a nice get together. We had yummy Knolla's pizza and breadsticks, lots of fun and cake and ice cream. L had a great time. While we were eating cake and ice cream, she says, "If everyone wants to say something nice about me, now would be a good time". After we finished laughing a few minutes later, we took a few minutes to say nice things about L.
L was so excited to get new Zhu zhu pets. She loves them! Her new buddy is named Wubzy. He has a swimming pool to dive into.
New hair ties. And nail polish. What more could a girl want?
L's beautiful Hello Kitty cake. It was so delicious!
