Fitness Friday: 7/29 Edition


This week was brought to you by 4 different states!  I really enjoyed running in DC. It was gorgeous and hilly!

Friday: two miles in DC.  Lots of hills but the scenery was GORGEOUS!

Saturday: we had a late night so I ran in PA around 11 AM.  It was super hot so I got one mile in.



Sunday: My dad and I ran in Valley Forge National Park.  It was hilly and hot but so fascinating! I learned about the cabins the soldiers live in, where they cooked, etch.

Monday:  our last day in PA.  Ran a mile


Tuesday: in Indiana for our night stop.  The treadmill was broken so I ran outside.  There were good sidewalks so it wasn't bad.


Wednesday:  back to Kansas and to run with my friend Mandy! We got a 5K in!


Thursday: We ran super early in this morning and got a 4 mile run in.  My Garmin almost died and Mandy's did die while we were running.  Crazy!

What's Up Wednesday

Ok so new topic for Wednesdays. Some weeks it will feature what we have all done, sometimes it will be a spotlight on one family member. This week it's on L (she wants to be first).

On Monday we went berry picking near my parents house. We all had fun but L had a blast. We picked blueberries, blackberries, nectarines and peaches

She loved picking nectarines! They were plentiful

Weekly Chase: Week 30

Vacations are so necessary for me to recharge and get myself organized.  I am still on vacation today but I'm trying to get to back into routine. And this is the 30th week of 2016 so I am picking up my regularly scheduled programming.

We had a wonderful time on vacation and that will be in its own post. 

On to the Weekly Chase! Here's a recap:

1. Run a mile a day:Yes!!  I finished Day 427!!

2. Stretch and ice daily: No.  And I remember why I need to do this every day. 

3. Say Grace:Yes! 

4. Read or meditate daily:Almost every day

5. Log my calories daily: Fair.  It's really hard to do on vacation

6. Finish a book: No.  I'm halfway through 'The Boys in the Bunkhouse".  It's really good.

7. Journal every day: No. But I'm caught up now



This Week's Goals:

2. Stretch and ice daily

4. Read or meditate daily
5. Log my calories daily
6. Journal every day

My Extra goals:
Finish a book.
Start to declutter L's room
Unpack from vacation and get L ready for her Girl Scout trip

It's Caturday!

Yes, I know I've been MIA. Summer has been super busy and I've just been living in the moment. We will start with the easy post-AJ. She is so photogenic and always doing something dorky. Let's go look in the archives:

Weekly Chase: Week 25

This weekend was a little low keyed.  And I like that!  Jeff was in Nashville for the week.  L was at a friend's for most of the day so I spent it cleaning and reading.  Sunday, we went to a friend's house for brunch.  It was so nice to hang out with friends!


On to the Weekly Chase! Here's a recap:

1. Run a mile a day:Yes!!  I finished Day 407!!

2. Stretch and ice daily: Yes!! Every single day. 

3. Say Grace:Yes! 

4. Read or meditate daily:Almost every day

5. Log my calories daily: 100% of the time!

6. Finish a book:Yes.  I finished 'I Want My Epidural Back'

 7. Stay off social media: Yes! I am making progress

 8. Journal every day: No.  But I'm caught up now

9. Work on decluttering L's room: No.  This week didn't go as planned.
