Marathon Monday

So I haven’t posted about the Dallas Marathon which I participated in on December 9th.  It was my fifth marathon and the second time I’ve ran Dallas.
First stop: the expo. I went with three other ladies and met one there (she lives in Houston).

We shopped and signed the wall

And then had a delightful supper. Chicken and mashed cauliflower.

The weather was nice Saturday which is good because I was afraid it wasn’t going to be good. There had been threats of ice earlier in the week.

Flat is!

Race Day!! I was ready to tackle this marathon on!

Stephanie and I trained together. This was her first Mary.

Starting line!!!!!

The views during the race are great! There are neighborhoods with all sorts of displays. And a piano player!

My time was 6:12:44. My worst time. My feet really hurt at the end.  The road was broken in spots so we did a lot of switching sides. For the first time ever, I had a blood blister on my toe. I still had a ton of fun though!

Caturday 1/12/19

Okay-I’m not sure where this week went!!! Geez-I haven’t posted all week. Let’s see what the girls were up to this week.
Scully and L took a nap together.  L said she laid down and told Scully they didn’t have to sleep but she was out in a minute!

They are all loving sleeping on our laps. It’s amazing how we can get them all in one seat

My faithful treadmill friend

Today, it snowed so no running. Someone is currently loving this!!

Caturday 1/14/19

The girls have had a good week! Christmas vacation means lots of people home! They were smiling from ear to ear!

Scully found a new spot to sleep! She deemed it wonderful!

Until it was time to nap with L. She’s always up for hanging out with her bestie!

Today I was gone most of the day. AJ was very lonely. She has been by my side all evening !

2019 Word of the Year and Goals

Ahh...it's January again.  A time to say "let's set some new goals up and see how it goes". This year my word of the year is CHANGE.

Why you ask?  Well, I truly enjoy sitting in my comfort zone.  I love my job that I've been at for 20 years, love coming home to my family and cooking and reading all evening.  But I also know in order to grow as a human, I need to make changes.  I want to recertify for my physician assistant certificate.  I want to run faster and run longer.  One of my goals is to run a 50K this year.  So I need to work on change.

My other goals include:
1. Blogging more here and spending time documenting on Instagram. I want to spend less time wasting my time on Facebook.  While it's good for news, I spent A LOT of time screwing around looking at everyone's picture perfect lives.

2. Grow my makeup business.  I want to make this more than just get free makeup.  I want to help others grow their businesses also!

3. Spend more quality time with L and Jeff.  One way to do this is to having a family game night at least a few times a month.

4. Recertify.  That's going to take some serious studying.

5. Run faster and longer...and adjust my nutrition habits to work on fueling my body better.

That's it for today!
