Pumpkin Patch (part 1)

L's preschool class went to the pumpkin patch. Applejack's is a lot of fun. They had tons of equipment for the kids to play on, a pretend train (it's driven by a John Deere tractor), and a big wagon to go to pick out the pumpkins.

Unfortunately, it was very, very cold. After about two hours, L was spent. She was ready for a warm place and food.

L and her friend, Tucker, who she thinks she wants to marry (because I said she can't marry daddy).
They had a giant slide. I was impressed that L went down it without a fight.
They also had a petting zoo. All the animals were friendly (did I mention you could buy food for them also). The bunnies were so cute. Brings back childhood memories. All in all, it was a ton of fun!

Week in Review

This week:
*we went to the pumpkin patch with L's class. Cooold but fun. She had fun playing with the other kids. She didn't care much about the pumpkin (we'd been out in the cold too long).

*We hosted our first party in the new house. That night was so much fun!

*We ate out at my favorite restaurant, Mediterranean Grill. Love their fattoush and hummus! We also shopped at the mall. I decided to splurge and buy foundation when I was at Dillard's. Holy cow!!! I will never go back to drugstore foundation again. It is worth every penny. Bought new Sketcher's. Love them!! Black casual shoes.

*Went to TWO Target's to find the perfect pair of shoes for L's Halloween costume. She also got a pair of snow boots. She was a happy girl.

*Made trick or treat bags for L's class and made Halloween pretzels for the teachers. L had fun helping me decorate them.

I think that sums it up! This weekend will be busy. I'm dressing up for Halloween, L's got a Halloween party at school, trick or treating on Sat. Geez!! I need to schedule some time in to scrapbook, blog and exercise (yes, in that order).

Halloween Housewarming Party

Last night, we hosted our first party at the new house. It was successful. We gave tours to those who hadn't been over and Jeff and I relished in the fact that we'd accomplished quite a bit in a couple months.

L helped me cook quite a bit. We made a witch cake. We also fixed a "Cheesestein" and witch twice baked potatoes.

The kids had a great time playing inside and out. Brett and Casey played pool and hockey. L and K spent a lot of time outside running around and playing on the swingset. They were both wiped out when the party was over.
Jeff bought some very cool lanterns that you set on fire and they float. They were pretty cool although they didn't work quite like we'd thought.

The leftover Cheesestein. He was yummy. We also had onion dip, salad and subs from Jimmie John's.

It was a beautiful night. We had a great fire going while the boys smoked cigars. It was so nice to hang out with friends. Thanks all!

Cheesehead

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1h-AgDPuVI

Okay. I am having YouTube difficulty (a bad case of UM). But this video rocks, especially when L comes back into the kitchen (about 1 minute into the video). This was originally great grandpa's arm rest for his casted arm, but L has other ideas.

Blog of the Week (and hopefully not month)

Whew. The month has flown by!! So what have we been up to? Unpacking, unpacking, unpacking. Too many boxes at our friend's house and the storage shed. Geez! On the upside most everything I still wanted so that was good. Gotta get it all done by Saturday. We're having a Halloween party and I don't want our guests to see a messy house.

Let's see...I also did something new! I hosted a Tupperware party. Yep, tupperware is still around. And surprisingly I had a great time. It helps when you get a bunch of free stuff too.

Jeff put a classy shed together in the backyard (pictures are coming). This way our bikes won't get wet and the mower fits nicely inside.

I just got back from Louisville, KY. I was at our annual Child Neurology conference. The meetings were really good. Some years it's all scientific and I am BORED, but this year was clinically based so it was interesting. There was a guy from the CDC there to discuss recommending H1N1 vaccine for all of our patients. It was very cold there, so I didn't venture outside.

L is a hoot. She was so happy on Wednesday that she was getting daddy all to herself for three days, but on Thursday things turned around and she missed me terribly! She was all lovey last night, but up to her goofy self today. She loves preschool, but cherishes Saturday and Sunday (when she doesn't have to go to school). She's ready for Halloween....me too.

Okay....that's my weekly post. My goal is to do this once a week and hopefully more.
