Our New House

I know...you have all been patiently waiting for me to blog about our new house.  If all goes well, it will officially be ours in 64 hours (yes, I AM counting down).  I LOVE the house. We have nicknamed it the "Steeple" house because of the way the living beams look.  There are huge vaulted ceilings with a ceiling fan with a remote!  Don't you love the way the fireplace looks?!?  This room is going to be our game room...where the pool table will go.  There's a little wet bar in the corner.
The house has two floors and a finished basement.  Here's a view of the family room which is in the basement.  There are no windows so it will be excellent for movie watching.
A view from the staircase looking at the front door.
A view from the bottom.  I L.O.V.E. the staircase.  It's all wood.  See the hexagon shape in the background?  It overlooks the living room.  Yep, awesome.
Ahh...the kitchen.  My beautiful, beautiful kitchen.  With its stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.  And a beautiful counter and desk that you can't see.  I drooled over this one spot for at least 15 minutes before moving on.  LOVE iT!
So there's a glimpse of the house.  I'll blog more later.  Off to pack....

I know...

...that I suck at blogging. I know...you all want to see pictures of the new house. And I have some but I haven't had the energy to blog at the end of the day. But here's my brief update.

Our houses have both been appraised and are in final underwriting awaiting final approval. Hopefully we'll have them stamped for approval tomorrow.

Jeff and I went to KC last week for a couple days to see Chris Isaak. What a great concert. He was wonderful. We had fun checking out furniture stores and visiting with friends.

My mom and dad were in town last week. What a great time that was! We had a good visit, played with L a ton and got some shopping in. I was so happy they could see our new house while they were here. L showed them their "bedroom" and the bathroom she could share with them (although, she has said numerous times that it's not fair she'll have to share a bathroom with someone :))

So more news soon...

Minneapolis trip

I can't get the blogger picture to go, so this will just be a written post.

Minneapolis was a great place to visit. We left Friday afternoon and got to the hotel about midnight. We slept in every day until 10am. On Saturday, we went swimming (oh wait, we did that every day) at the hotel and then went downtown to watch the Twins play in the Metrodome. The Metrodome is a great place to watch a game. It's climate controlled and very spacious for being in a dome. This is their last year there. They are building an outdoor stadium. The Twins beat the Tigers. Then we walked downtown and looked around. We shopped at a two story Target. It's just like the regular Super Target but on two levels. Still a cool concept. We saw Hell's Kitchen (but didn't eat there).

On Sunday, we shopped for several hours at the Mall of America. Okay, so it's just a mall, but it was cool. They have all the regular shops plus a Swatch store. Love.That.Place. We ate dinner at Bubba Gump's. Yummy.

Monday, we messed around too long and took a wrong turn, so we didn't go to the zoo like we planned. Jeff's idea was to go to Water Park of America. We weren't sure if L was going to have fun, but it turned out to be a great idea. L loved it. She went down several of the slides and laughed and laughed. We had a wonderful time.

One of my favorite things we did was stop at Legoland. We built lots of things and bought some Legos. I love Legos and hope L will too.

Our last day, Tuesday, we shopped at IKEA. Love. That. Place. We dropped L off in the kids playland. Jeff and I checked out furniture and made our wish list. Then we drove south of the city and shopped at an outlet mall. We loved the fact that there's no sales tax on clothes. We drove home afterwards.

It was nice to get away for a few days. Back to work tomorrow.
