L pictures while camping

L had such a good time camping. She "washed" her hair at least 5 times a day! She used the water pump to do that. She had so much fun!

She also loved her friend, Casey. They spent the majority of the weekend together. Such sweet kids.

Look! Even a 4 year old can eat and drive!

Camp Fall River

Another exciting Memorial Day camping trip is over. We had sooo much fun! We spent the weekend with a great group of people: The Loving's, Clasen's, Konda's, T, and Amy. The weather was PERFECT!! Not one drop of rain the entire weekend. I got a very nice arm tan (no sunburn). Everyone in our group participated in the "no shower" picture. We had a mini adventure trying to figure out how to put the self timer on. One of the best additions to Brown Shelter was our very own outhouse!! Oh my gosh..it was so nice! It wasn't a flush toilet, but it was nice nonetheless.

We ate well, of course and we planned our meals very well. This night we had ribs that were smoked by Doug (thanks!) and fajitas. They were delicious with T's homemade guac.

Sunday am, T and Doug went fishing. They caught 4 good sized fish.

We had nice fires each night. We ate many smores (and drank a little tequila). We used funky flames in the fire. It turned the flames blue and green. Pretty cool.

L fixed her own marshmallow for smores. She was proud of herself to get to help with the smore process.

She also helped daddy put the tent up. She did a great job of hammering the tent sticks in the ground.

It was a wonderful weekend. I am so glad the weather was good.

Mother's Day Pictures

I know...I am a slower blogger. Trying to work on that. Here are a few pictures from Mother's Day. It was chilly so we were only out for a few minutes.

Weekend Recap

What a whirlwind weekend we had. L and I drove to KC to visit Jill and Adam Friday. This was after L had a 102 degree fever the day before. But lots of rest made her better and we had a great weekend. We started it off by eating at Five Guys with Jill and Betsy. The place reminds me of Dads, the best burger place in Doo-dah (unfortunately it is closed). Great burgers and the fries were excellent.

We got up early Saturday and ran a couple errands. Went to Archiver's and bought a few :) Doodlebug Design items. Then we headed to Lawrence. My childhood friend, Tara, got married. L was so excited to go to a wedding, but 5 minutes after sitting down, she says, "this is boring. Can we go now?" Uh...no. The wedding was beautiful and I am so happy she has found her love.

The reception was out at Tara's parents home. We had a delicious dinner that even L enjoyed.

If you look hard, you can see the bride (she has a blue wrap on).
Instead of cake, they frosted 1000 cupcakes! It was such a cute idea!

After the reception, we headed back to KC and hung out with Betsy and Minnie. L loves Minnie. We can't wait to get one of her siblings! It was a great weekend and we had so much fun together.

Fitness Rocks!

I've been participating in a fitness group three times a week for 8 months.  I've talked about Shocker Fitness often, but here's my success story.  In addition to SF (as we have nicknamed it), I exercise other days, but consistently I'm there at SF.  I ran the 10K River Run last Saturday with a finish time of 57 minutes, 4 seconds.  I was thrilled with my time and felt great about my run.  I was never exhausted during the 6.2 miles.  Last night, I went back to my log of run times.  Last year (May 2008) the 10K River Run...time was 64 minutes, 34 seconds.  That's right, I beat my time this year by 7 minutes, 30 seconds.  I couldn't believe it.  It's worth getting up at 5:30 in the morning for that!
