It's Snowing!

I really thought this wasn't going to happen. All I really wanted was a good snow. And I was rewarded and the best part was that it's a weekend so I don't have to trudge to work. Haley had a few minutes of fun out in the snow. She gets cold easily so her appearance was short.

Jeff made a fort with our snow block maker (one of the few things I hadn't packed away). It was impressive.
L thought it would be fun to cover daddy with snow while he was making a snow angel.

The pampas grass...a little sad. Everything is covered in a layer of ice and then snow.

So sweet!

L made her own snow angel.

She had fun sliding down the slide since there was a layer of ice before the snow.
We spent over an hour outside. It was delightful. I fixed soup and grilled cheese for lunch and it truly feels like a snow day!

Blow Out the Candles

Oh she loves the frosting. She loved blowing out the candles (which she did on the first try) and love having everyone sing Happy Birthday.

The "Night" Party

While the morning party was for the kids, the evening led way to our adult friends joining us to celebrate L's birthday. L picked out her cake...Ariel (you've gotten the whole princess theme, yes?!) We watched basketball and had a delicious dinner from Knolla's Pizza. Very simple (thank goodness).

L's gift from T...a pirate chest. She wasn't happy at first because she thought it was going to be a Bratz doll since she got a Bratz card from him, but after a minute, she thought it was cool.

Dressed up with her Fancy Nancy boa. Oh, la,la...

She LOVED her Barbie dress up outfit. I think she waited 5 minutes before putting it on!
We had so much fun celebrating with our friends.

The Fancy Nancy/Princess Party

The kid party was a hit! There were 8 preschoolers at the party and the girls had fun! Most were dressed up in their princess outfits. We played games, had a tea party and a pinata. The pinata was the best.
It was great to see their faces light up when they saw Ariel on a pinata. They hit pretty good for being girls!

L loved all her gifts. She got several Fancy Nancy things, including a purse and shoes and a boa and a couple books.

Here the girls are playing a sock game. How many socks can you put on in two minutes? L and another girl tied with seven. I was impressed. They also played dress up with my clothes.

The party was fun and not exhausting. Here's L showing off the jewelry she received. The dress..a gift from Great grandma and grandpa B. It looks so cute on her!

Finally!

Wow....okay, I'm back. Last week, the house was a wreck as we were packing and cleaning and painting. We accomplished everything by the time the parties started on Sat.

This week...I tried to get on the internet and it was running soooo slow. And you all know, patience is not a virtue I hold. So I check it tonight and BAM!! It's running! So here we go...

She is NOT Houdini

While Haley may have figured a way out, when Reggie went inside to explore and got locked in, there was no escaping for her. Sorry...she's not that smart.

When L Gets the Camera....

This picture isn't bad..she got Kam in the picture. Poor boy is wearing her Easter hat.
This picture...totally by accident, but artistic.

Please help Jill.

I am so proud of Jill, my friend for many years. She's running in the Seattle Marathon in June through Team in Training. In case you don't know about TNT, it's a nonprofit organization that helps fight Leukemia and Lymphoma.

So go here, http://pages.teamintraining.org/mid/rnrseatl09/jchittum and donate. It's tax deductible and a secure website. You'll be helping Jill get to her marathon (she must raise $4100) and fighting leukemia and lymphoma at the same time.

Horsey Party

L and I went to Ashley's birthday party on Sat. We had so much fun. We rode horses for 30 minutes. Our horse's name was Starsky. They were nice horses. They trotted politely the first half, but when we turned around to go home, they started galloping. They know the routine well!

After the ride, the kids played and we had hot dogs and chips. Then we headed over to the petting zoo. L had a great time feeding the goats. She loved their tickle when they licked the feed out of her hand.
She was exhausted after the party. But what a great way to spend the day!

Digital Arts and Craft Studio

We found a great tool for L at the red dot. It's a place for L to color, draw, and make crafts. She can spend a long time playing with it. It connects to the computer and we found a Dora disc with it....we love technology.

Houdini

Haley is Houdini the second. This girl can get out of anything. We need to put her in a kennel because we're going to redo the floor and because she recently chewed a hole thru the dryer vent out into the garage. So we spent good money and bought a nice kennel. First time, she probably got out in 5 minutes. Second time, Jeff used zip ties to keep it closed. She ate thru and broke the ties and got out.

So we bought a metal kennel and she chewed thru and broke the metal bars to escape. AHHH!!! I don't know what to do anymore. For now, she got her way and is back in the laundry room while we work on Plan C.

The Donut Whole

We have discovered the new donut place. We had heard the donuts were good, so good they kept running out of donuts. But a few months after they opened, we tried them out. We've been there twice. When you drive up, you're greeted by this huge rooster on the top of the building.
The donuts are delish! And not too expensive. Some donuts we've tried: Root Beer Float, Oatmeal Cookie, Chocolate Creme, Bumble Bee, Snowball, Berry Crunch...they are soooo good.

KSU vs. Nebraksa

Mary gave us tickets to see a KSU basketball game. We made a day of it. We shopped Aggieville, the mall and found new clothes and a cheergirl outfit for L. We had a yummy lunch at Pat's Blue Ribbon BBQ...they have the best pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries.

We had a great time at the game. Luckily, KSU won...they didn't play great. L was a little disappointed because Willie didn't come in the stands. I have to admit I really like WSU's arena. It is much nicer and fancier than Bramledge Arena.

Grab a beverage...

...because it's going to be a long post. It's March 1st and I looked at Feb. posts...8 lousy posts. I had the February Funk. I should love February with it's pink and red, but really there's nothing exciting going on that month and I get into a horrible rut. I'll blame part of it on the time sucker...Twitter and Facebook. I can waste hours on those sites. The problem I have is seeing if I want to follow someone or look up friends. Then I look at the clock and an hour has flown by. I have successfully stopped it at work...now I need to go back and limit my computer time at home.

I just finished a book called 'Loving Frank'. It's a historical novel about Frank Lloyd Wright and his mistress, Maymeh. It was a book club nominee and I thought it was really good. The story flowed well and it was so interesting to see how different time was in then versus now.

Here's an update about my 2009 goals:
* weight loss: haven't lost a pound. Been exercising regularly, but I can't stop eating bad food. I am doing better at not overeating, but I really need to work on this issue in March.

*my "me" time: see above. Other than reading three books this month, it sucked.

*write a letter to an old friend: Didn't do, but on my to do list this week.

So keep checking back, because I promise there will be many posts this month!
