Princess Got a Blow Out

Reggie needed some TLC. I could totally do it but she loves going to the groomers and get dolled up. The groomers LOVE her. They tells she is so well behaved.

Look at that fluffy fur!!!

Full of Flavor

The Hawaiian Mahi Mahi at the Brewery was so delicious last night. Served over a bed of pineapple rice. Top it off with a peach margarita and a salted caramel p'zookie (cookie pie) and this was one of the best meals ever.

Makes Me Smile Every Time

My heart smiles whenever I come home and the front door is open and the first thing I see is this:

Unconditional love. She is ALWAYS excited to see me.

It's Car Wash Time!

Victoria, my black minivan, needed a bath after the weekend trip to Tulsa. She looks perty now.

I love our local automatic car wash.

Cool photo.

Backyard Progress

Jeff is working on the outdoor kitchen. He built a kitchen station using our old salon's awing. It turned out so cool!

He got a surfboard for the top of the bar/station.

Another gem in our back yard.

Porter Peaches!!!

We drove to Porter, OK yesterday for our annual peach trip. We got so many peaches!!!!

Of course we had to eat one right away.

Look at that juice!!

We stopped at the Peach Barn for hand pies and a photo and headed to CVille to deliver peaches and head home.

Now I've got to decide what yummy goodness to do with them!

Weekly Trip to the Market

I ❤️ the farmers market. I took mom there last Saturday. It was a nice overcast morning. There were a TON of people as it was tomato day! I got granola bars, scones, cantaloupe and blueberries. So yummy!

Speed Work

I've been hitting the track once a week for speed work. It's supposed to help your fast twitch muscles work to help you do better in the long runs. I have to say I agree. Tuesdays are my speed days. I found a school track to run on (because I'm too lazy to look at my watch to see what 0.25 miles looks like). This week: 6 x 400 meters (0.25 miles). It was a hot one.

I made it through even though I wanted to quit sometimes. What doesn't kill makes you stronger, right?!?!

I am a sweaty mess. I treated myself to Starbucks iced coffee. Delish!

Nature Walk with Dad

Monday dad and I went on a walk through the nature center. This walk never gets old. We saw 7 deer (2 which were babies), a muskrat, an urget and countless bunnies and ducks.

Beautiful sunrise.

Selfie time!

Fishing

Sunday night we went to T's neighborhood and fished. L had a great time. Everyone caught a fish and she was the first one to catch a fish. The weather was gorgeous.

Getting out the equipment.

First fish photo!

Grandpa caught a big one

Look at that mouth!

My Morning Walk

On Thursdays I join a group to walk/ run around the Nature Center. I love this run. I know I'll see wildlife but we never know what we will see. Today it was deer and ducks and a whooping crane.
They get close:

How to Join the Group

As I've blogged many times, Reggie is not a fan of the pups. She likes to stay upstairs because they are too hyper. But sometimes I think she really wants to join us. Jeff was working on the pool room and Reggie slipped through the railing and on to a box that was perfect in height. When I got home, she did it again. She LOVED all the attention.

Fishing Injury

Last night, my BFF called me to say her 4 year old son hooked himself with a lure in the knee while he was taking a bath. She tried to get it out but it was a barbed hook and wasn't successful. So I told her to bring him to the Welch minor emergency center.
Here's Max. He looks so sweet.

His injury (BTW, he wasn't supposed to be playing with it).

I tried but couldn't get it to come out so I called T, my trusted friend who fishes all the time. He had a trick to pull it out which he'd seem but not done. Thankfully, Max has a high pain threshold and didn't cry at all. T wrapped the barb in fishing line, laid his hand on the weight and quickly yanked out. Success!! One little hole, hardly any blood and no tears. Some irrigation, neosporin and a band aid and he was good to go.

Gorgeous Weather

We have had some stellar weather this week. My morning runs have been in the 57-62 degree range. I'm sad it won't last. My parents are coming to town this weekend so of course it will be hot (90!).
Here's a view from my run:

Titan 10K

I ran the Titan 10K this morning. It's the third annual race and I have run each of them. I always curse at myself because it's so hot. I have trained a little more than normal and I'm happy to report it helped. My time was 1:17:08 which is decent. I wore my camelbak which definitely helped. It was still hot but I didn't feel like giving up like usual.
I got some cool bling.

Oreo's New Bowl

Oreo is always hungry. Probably because he burns off so much energy. When it's feeding time, he scarfs his food down in less than a minute. This week when L and Jeff were at BBB,they saw the perfect dish for him.

You put kibbles in all the parts and the dog eats it but this process slows down how fast they eat. And it worked! But the best part is this dish kept him so preoccupied that he left us alone while we ate supper. Win win!!
