Fredonia or Bust!

Where to start...Camp Fall River was as adventuresome as ever. For starters, we had to stay up late (past midnight) last night because there was a tornado spotted near Piedmont (15 miles from Fall River). After 30 minutes the watch was over and then the rain started....and never stopped. All night and all day when we were trying to pack up (ick). Here we posed for the group picture in front of the lake that was made with this rain. It almost overtook the Wenzel's tent.
Dan, the boys and L decided to try and fish in this fake lake. They were as successful as they'd been all week...caught nothin.
Otherwise, the weather was beautiful. Saturday night we had a delicious supper of ribs and campfire stew. The kids loved the ribs.

Jeff and L pose for a goofy picture. After dinner Sat. we watched "The Simpsons Movie" and "The Incredibles" on a king sized sheet. Jeff has a projector. It was wonderful addition to the camping experience. I did mention we bring a whole new meaning to "roughing it".
Sadly, there's lots more pictures that I haven't shared. I'll add a few more tomorrow. Despite today's rain, we had a really good time. We got to swimming, boating, and share lots of laughs and stories.

10 Years Today

...at this time we were married and greeting everyone for the reception. Time has flown by. We've been through a lot and weathered it all. Can't wait for the next 10 years!

(sorry about the bad pic...in a hurry ...off to the big camping trip )

Graduation Time

Are these two people wonderful. We went to South's graduation on Tuesday (yea, I'm a belated blogger). L did pretty well for the ceremony being boring for a 3 year old. She was so happy to see her daddy afterwards.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Hope you have fun and be safe!

More Spring Projects

Our goal is to move in the next year or so. So this year, we're working on sprucing up the front yard for better curb appeal. I think it's looking nice so far. Jeff found some hanging baskets for flowers. We found a really cool bench (picture is below). One of my favorite finds is this roaster. It is so cool. We found it at a local antique store. The flowers look great in the basin.

L loves the whole flower part because she gets to water the plants with me. She's responsible for the wagon and wheelbarrow of flowers.

Colbie in Concert

Last Friday, we gathered with 6000 other festival goers to see Colbie Caillat in concert. She did a great job. She sang for over an hour. L, T, Jeff and I went and we enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Although we ate dinner before, L was still hungry and ate this huge corn dog all by herself.
L had a great time dancing and singing along. She knows 'Bubbly'. She found some teen girls behind us and they danced with her for awhile.

She even hooked up with a little boy and shared McDonaldland cookies with him. T's new wheels.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful Mother's day. First, L let me sleep in past 9 am. Then Jeff and L took me out to lunch at Monterrey Mexican Grill and it was delicious. Great cheese dip. Then we went to Plant Kingdom and bought all sorts of plants for the front yard (that will another post later). They helped me plant everything and then we had a nice steak and potato dinner. Finally, we finished the day with Marble Slab ice cream. The weather was great and to spend it with my two favorite people was the best!

64:34

I RAN the 10K River Run today. And notice that I said ran, not completed. I ran the entire 6+miles and I am very proud of myself. I'll give some credit to the nice weather and good tunes on my ipod, but mile 5 and 6 were all my own willpower. I have accomplished the feat I didn't think was possible.

Grey's (semi spoiler)

Okay, I know 3 posts in one day is probably too much. But I HAVE to quote this scene of Dr. Bailey talking to all the nurses in the lobby (they were on boycott because Dr. Sloan sleeps with all of them).

Dr. Bailey, "here are my thoughts on Dr. Sloan. This man is...a whore. Has always been a whore. Will probably always be a whore. But that's not a secret. He's not keeping it hidden. You all knew who he was before you got involved with him. Now you want to be all 'woe is me, he's not calling me back, he's dating other women'. He's NASTY. But he's a doctor here. And a pretty good one at that."

Here comes the best part...." so let us all close OUR knees and get back to OUR jobs so he can get back to his job and help the people that really need him".

I love Bailey. I wish I could give such "suck it up" speeches.

That's all for tonight. I think. No, I promise.

Rain is a kid's best friend

It has rained a lot in Ta-town this week. The pool cover is filled to the top. Last night, the rain cleared and L really, really wanted to play out on her swing set. But we knew it would be too wet so Jeff convinced her to go out in the front. And she found the puddles. She marched up and down the street for 15 minutes stomping, dancing and singing. And yes, she has socks on.

The bigger the splash the better!

An L moment

Okay, this post is for Denise and all the other mothers who have been there. Tonight, we went shopping at Target. I'm looking for a pair of running shorts with a pocket (for my race Sat). Before I could even gasp, L is yelling, "mommy" and she's peeing all over the floor! Man, I wanted to crawl in a hole. So I quickly walk her over to the kid clothes and pick out the first outfit I see, quickly pay for it and then go to the bathroom. We change and I realize I bought a skirt..damn...need panties. So we shopped and bought panties. I hope that's not a situation I go through any time EVER.

Living instead of Blogging

You all know, I'm the first to complain when my fellow bloggers aren't blogging. But I'm to blame lately because I've been busy playing instead of blogging. Yesterday, Jeff had a meeting at school. L and I went to the neighborhood park for 45 minutes, then came home to fix dinner. L wanted to play on her swing set, which we did for another 30 minutes. I was worn out by the end of the day. Even the girl needs a thirst quencher at her new table (b-day present).

So far for the spring, we've walked to the library and park numerous times. I love our local library. It has a wonderful kids section. This time I picked up several David Shannon books (i.e.No David). We're having a great time. Based on Lori B's recommendation, I also got "Waiting". It looks good...but that's another post (all my exciting summer read books).

WSU softball star in the making?

What do you all think? I think she looks good in pink. Unfortunately, she doesn't quite have the coordination so we opted for the wiffle ball and bat.

Grey's

In my last post I said how much Grey's is my guilty pleasure. I forgot how much I love this show. And I'm not sure why.

So Addison came back for a guest spot. I didn't like her before because she tried to get in the way of Derek and Meredith, but Thursday night's episode was great. She is a strong character and I hope she comes back again. Some suprises on the show, like Hahn may be a lesbian (interesting twist). But my favorite scene was this. The show's about to end and Derek gets on the elevator and Meredith is already there. His new girlfriend joins them, then Addison. The doors close and they drop to another floor. The doors open and there stands Mc Steamy and the look and laugh on his face was priceless. Then he comments to Derek (McDreamy), "bet you'd wish you'd taken the stairs". It's times like this that makes me forget all the other annoying crap the writers stick in there.

Only a few more weeks til it's over until fall. Hope it gets better, not hokier.

A Wonderful Moment

It's 9:45 pm and I'm sitting on my sofa, with my computer and new scrapbook magazine. And my guilty pleasure, Grey's Anatomy, is playing (via tivo). I didn't realize how much I missed Grey's. There's nothing better than these simple things after a long, busy day.

Have a great weekend!
