Soon...

Life is flying by. I promise to have some new posts up soon. It's hard...Twitter makes life current and I have to remember my fellow blog followers.

Today it is pouring. The garage has seen water twice today. Geez! I like rain, but it's a little excessive. Hopefully it will clear off a little tomorrow. I am thankful that the weather has warmed up some. I like 70's weather...tshirts and crop pants (sorry, I feel too old for shorts).

This week we have been finalizing having tile and carpet put in. The target date for putting the house on the market is May 26. We need to clean up the backyard and get the house picked up. I am ready for it to be done.

I finished 'The Red Tent' today. What a profound book. It's hard to put into words, but I am amazed how the old world was. All the stories these women tell is amazing. I'd read it again.

I had a wonderful Saturday morning. I got up at 8, headed down to Starbuck's to eat oatmeal and sip on a peppermint mocha and read a little. Then I headed up to Tips and Toes and got a pedicure. Ahhhh....I love them!! My feet feel great. The callouses are gone and my toes are a beautiful red.

So much down, so much to do. Will try to get caught up this week.

Hopscotch

On a rare warm day, L decided to play outside. She loves hopscotch and after I created it for her, she was jumping back and forth.

She was kind enough to take a short time and pose for the camera.

Jump high big girl!

Chalk

We have a really nice SLR and I am now not so afraid to use it. So when L was out playing a couple weeks ago, I tried to be creative. I thought my chalk pictures turned out pretty well.

A Visit from Uncle John

Last week, Uncle John came to visit us. He lives in Texas and was on his way to Russell to spend Easter with his brother and sister. We haven't seen him in 2 years and L has definitely grown up since then. He brought her a gift...a John Deere tractor. She loves it!
He received a gift from Grandpa Ed and it was a John Deere book so he and L read it together. She really took to him. But John looks so much like my dad that L kept calling him Grandpa.

It was so nice to see him. We hope it's not that long until he comes to visit again.

Easter

Although it was a rainy day today, we had a great Easter. My grandparents and Jeff's parents drove to Doo-dah to spend the day with us. We had a really nice visit and good food. Sorry the pictures are out of order. While I was napping this afternoon, Great grandma B. and L were resting on the floor telling ghost stories. Those two played all afternoon and had so much fun. They even got in a sword fight.
Dessert included an Easter bunny cake. Great grandma got the bunny butt and L thought that was the funniest thing ever. Very good cake and frosting and the perfect size.

I also picked up some really cute cookies from the bakery.

Since it rained all day, the Easter bunny had a egg hunt in the house. L had just as much fun. He left her lots of treats.

Easter Sun Run

On Saturday, I joined a lot of other people to run the 10 K Easter Sun Run. The weather was beautiful...cool and not much wind. I had a great run...my time was 58:28. I felt good almost the whole time and did the run without my ipod. And it was nice just to take in the scenery at Sg. Co. Park. Me after the run (sweaty, stinking and in different clothes than what I ran in).
