I will blog again. Life is crazy busy!! Two puppies=exhaustion at times. But they are so much fun to play with. We've really enjoyed them. I promise when I get time (this weekend), I will update with videos and pictures.
Have a great week (even if it's 100+ degrees outside)!

Fair Time!
Last week, Sedgwick Co. Fair was on. We went last year. Although it's small, we enjoy checking everything out. We saw the livestock: goats, sheep, cows, and bunnies. This goat got friendly with L.
Then the kids went on the rides. They had a good time on the kiddie rides.
Finally, we got their faces painted. They LOVED that!!
It was a nice night and surprisingly cool for July.

Oreo and Lucy are Home!
This morning we went and picked up Oreo and Lucy and met their breeders. The ladies were very nice. We picked Oreo up first. He is so funny! He is very alert and playful. Lucy was next on the pick up; she was excited to meet us and Oreo. Oreo has established himself as the alpha dog. I think Lucy will be more of a lap dog. She's pretty calm and collected and L holds her all the time! Here's a close up picture of Lucy.
L and Oreo. While he's a little wild, he poses well for pictures. Which is very good.
After hours of playing, he collapsed and took a short nap.

Two Kids and their Cookie
We had dinner at Old Chicago this week. These kids devoured the entire "big cookie" and ice cream. It was quite comical.

July 4th Fun
For the 4th we spent the day with the Loving's. We swam in their pool and L lost tooth #6 (and yes, there was drama). We had a great BBQ for supper. And then we went out to shoot the fireworks.
Here's the loot:
L and her friends threw snappers, lit off smoke bombs and parachutes while it was light.
I love how colorful smoke bombs are.
The evening fireworks were great. We shot off lots of little fountains, but their neighbors had much bigger displays.
Cool fountains.

Minnie!!
Who doesn't love a Minnie dog??? She is the cutest schoodle I know (well, at least until we get Lucy next week). She loves all the attention we give her. She plays ball well (if that means you chase her with the ball in her mouth). L thinks she is great. She's a little squiggly when you want to take a picture.
Here she poses nicely. Then I decided I didn't like the flash pictures.
But when I tried again, she wasn't willing to put her cute ears up. This is the "am I in trouble?" look.
But with some coaxing from her mommy, here's my favorite look.
Thanks Minnie and Betsy for a great weekend!

KC Trip
We spent part of our long weekend in KC with Jill and Adam. They are wonderful hosts. We had fun shopping, eating and crafting. They have a HUGE garden in their backyard. L and Jill picked peas Saturday morning.
Part of the reason we went is so I could make a cookie sheet calendar with Betsy. She is so crafty. We had lots of fun and I'll share a post about the calendar soon.
Dinner Friday night was at a fancy burger place. The burgers were huge and yummy. I couldn't finish mine. The fries come in a grocery cart!
We had a great time visiting and sharing laughs. We played with Hank, their new kitten a lot. He is one busy boy!!

Why Do You Need to Change Your Oil?
Because if you wait until 60,000 miles to change the oil, in 3 weeks the engine will fall apart. Oh wait! That's what happened to me.
I bought a great car in March-a 2007 Suzuki XL-7. Third row seats, leather, the works. I fell in love with this car. Three weeks later, on our way home from Texas, the low oil pressure light clicked on. We stopped and turned the car on and luckily made it home. But the next day, the light came on and the engine sounded like it was going to fall out. So I made a quick call to Suzuki and they picked it up from my work. I thought, they'll have it taken care of in a week. Thank goodness I got the extended warranty.
Well, a week, then two passes and the car keeps failing all the tests. So the techs look further into things and find....oil sludged all over. And when they review the records, the lady that owned it NEVER CHANGED THE OIL!!!
I was stunned and appalled. Who doesn't change the oil? It's $30 to get the oil changed. Wow.
I give Suzuki props. They bought and put in a whole new engine, new gasket heads and timing belts. It took a total of 2 months and 3 days for me to get the car back in my possession, but at least I have a new engine and greater confidence. What a ride.
