Lemon crinkles

I got this recipe off of Pinterest. Lemon cake mix, cool whip and an egg. Mix together, roll cookies in powdered sugar, then bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Best. Cookie. Ever.

My desk

I haven't posted a picture at my desk in awhile and I'm stretching to make 31 posts this month.  You can see my typical desk, with my watch on the side (too hard to type when wearing it), my cell phone and vitamin water in the background.

Cereal for Dinner, Cake for Dessert

I just finished reading this book last week (while camping).  It's written by Laura McKnight and I thought the title and cover looked interesting when my friend Betsy posted it.  Well, lo and behold, the book is written by my good childhood friend's sister.  And it was hilarious to read. Especially all the parts reflecting on childhood.  I laugh because Laura was just older enough that she was mystifying but I didn't really know her.  Her book is well written and discusses that we "just need to be myself".  I forget that often.  I'm always trying to fill every other role that's put before me, but in order to be happy, I need to remember myself.  Oh, and cake is very good to eat!

Dance

Last night, L had blocking, which is a quick introduction to the stage.  She did very well.

Camp Fall River 2012

 Camping was wonderful this year.  The weather was great.  No rain in sight.  We spent the weekend with 7 other families and had a great time playing, fishing, swimming.  Jeff and I took a trip to Fredonia and saw these goats on the side of the road.  They thought we were goofy. 

 Dinner with tablecloths, candles and paper towels.  Fine dining!

 The kids went swimming Saturday afternoon.  The weather was cold and L lost her goggles but still had fun.

 There was a rubber duck race Saturday afternoon.  The kids didn't win, but it killed time.

 Helen of Wichita made an appearance.

Last Day of 1st Grade

It amazes me how fast this year went.  She had a wonderful teacher and learned so much!

They Love to Fight

 Yes, these are my two dogs fighting over a set of chew keys.  By the way, there are two sets of them, but they still want what the other has.

Daisy Bridging

 Tonight L went from being a Daisy to a Brownie.  The ceremony was short and sweet.  The girls had a great time.  Here is L going through her bridging.

Tessa's Shower

My co worker and friend, Brady, had a baby shower for baby #2, her first girl.  Tessa Grace is due to arrive at the end of July.  The party was very nice and very pink.

Saturday Fun

Yesterday was a busy day and no pictures.  I got the oil changed in the van, my hair cut, manicure, baby gifts bought for friends, BBQ lunch, cleaned house, moved the trampoline, went swimming and topped the night off at the drive in, watching 'Battleship', 'Hunger Games' and 'Ghost Rider 2'.  What a wonderful day with lots of memories.

Friday Night Fun

After dinner, we went to Braum's, picked up ice cream and then sat in the van and watched Hugo.  Good movie, weird location to watch it.  Definitely a first for us.

The Dinner Game

This is how meal time goes with the dogs. Oreo scarfs his food down. Lucy eats a couple bites then taunts Oreo, growling at him while she guards her food. It's such a stupid game.

Chicken and Bows

L has a new favorite dish called chicken and bows. Chicken, bow tie pasta, pease, red pepper and cream of chicken soup. She want sme to make it every Thursday.

Swimming with the Konda's

We had an impromptu supper at Jose Peppers Tuesday and then we invited the Konda's for a swim. They had a great time.

Dog in the Sand

 Oreo is just being a dog.  Digging in the sand, dusting off and getting filthy.  Ick.

 Great grandma has some beautiful neighbors kitties.  They love to come over and be petted.  And roll in the dirt!

Mother's Day

On Saturday, we went to C-ville and spent the day with great grandma and grandpa Bumgardner, grandma and grandpa Welch and uncle Ken.  We had a nice time visiting and playing.  Great grandma is always willing to get on the floor and play with L.

Bubble Pizza

I saw this recipe on Pinterest and it brought me back to 4H cooking.  Bubble pizza is sooo yummy and easy to make.  Cut up biscuits, mix with pizza sauce and cheese.  Add a little pepperoni and call it good. 

Funny Face

This is Teacher Appreciation Week at L's school.  We made fruit pizza and L felt it was necessary to make it a face instead just randomly putting on the fruit.

Grandma Linda

Grandma and Grandpa were in Emporia for a day so we met them for supper.  L was thrilled to spend the evening with them. 

Ramona and L

The Shultz's have a new kitten named Ramona.  She is very sweet.  L loved her and wanted to take her home.

This Old House

This is the house I grew up in from 12-19 years old.  It's still the same brown with the green shutters and door.  The fish pond is still in the backyard.  I love that house.  My bedroom is hidden by the tree.

It's Looking More Real

The liner is in place and it is starting to fill up.  We are getting excited!

Converse(ing)

L and I wore our new Converse tennies yesterday.  I think I was complimented on them 30+ times yesterday.
