Right Now.

Outside my window...I am seeing my beautiful blue pool and comfy chairs.

I am thinking...I wish someone would buy our house.

I am thankful for...the ability to be selling our home, good health and a great husband & daughter.

From the kitchen...turkey and avocado sandwiches, chips and salsa and pineapple chunks.

I am wearing...my red floral sundress.

I am creating...I can't tell you the last time I scrapbooked. I hope to work on Hawaii pictures.

I am going...to stretch before bed and lift weights.

I am reading...The Secret.

I am hoping...that we'll get to buy a new home soon.

I am hearing...L chomp on Doritos and The Great Muppet Caper is on the TV.

Around the house...the animals wait patiently for L to drop some food.

One of my favorite things...is to watch childhood movies. I love the Muppets.

A few plans for the weekend...sleep in, run, and swim in the pool.

A picture to share...

L's point of View

Every so often, L gets ahold of camera and takes pictures. She's getting pretty good at her accuracy.

California Trip

We all went to Anaheim last week. We had a great time. The weather was beautiful. We went to celebrate Jeff's great aunt Helen's life. One of the things we did was let butterflies go (Chris had nursed these little guys from caterpillars to butterflies).

Uncle Steve was showing L how to open her box to let the butterfly go. They were good buddies (not a surprise).

One night we headed to the GardenWalk. We went there a couple nights. We ate at Bubba Gump's. It was delicious. L ate all of her shrimp plus half of Jeff's. She was very happy to meet the Shrimp guy. I think he went on break right when we got there and we had to tell her he had to go potty. I don't think she bought it! We stayed at the Marriott. And we swam every day. L LOVED the pool. She would wake up in the morning and the first words, "can we go swim?" We had only been at the hotel for 10 minutes before we had to go downstairs to swim. She is so funny...we have a pool at home and she doesn't ask that often to go swimming.

Unfortunately, the Disneyland pictures are on the SLR and Jeff has the card reader, so you'll have to wait until the weekend to see those pics.

Singing in the Shower

L has been taking showers by herself. And she does a good job. She's able to wash herself and entertain herself for awhile while I do little tasks. She loves to sing...I'm glad, but I think I might need to get her a voice coach :).

Our House

...is finally on the market!! It looks great (IMO) and we're very happy with that. And no, I don't want to stay here. It still doesn't have a basement.

Here's our kitchen looking into the laundry room. I don't have any "before" pictures handy, so you'll know how much of a difference it looks if you've seen my house before.
Another view of the kitchen. New kitchen tile, new paint on the walls and cabinets.

The "game room" now the "den". Didn't know there were bookshelves and a fireplace? Don't feel bad, we hear that all the time.

View from the end of the living room. Notice the new carpet. Everyone loves that.
Now all we need is one person to buy this home.

A Political Post

Now you know me. I am not one to put my political views on my blog. But something happened this week that has bothered me all week so I hope by airing it, I'll be able to move on.

Last Sunday, an OB/GYN was assassinated. Dr. Tiller has practiced in Wichita for decades and happens to perform a controversial procedure, abortions. And he has always believed in what he does. And for his belief, he was murdered by a disgraceful man.

I'm not sure what bothers me the most. I haven't decided if it's because I'm a PA and one of our people has died. Or if it's because we have lost someone who performed a specialized service. I think I'm mad because this man was killed in his church. A place that is supposed to be sacred. All of the pro lifers who hate Dr. Tiller claim to be Christians. And yet, one of them kills another man IN HIS CHURCH. I know so don't start, he's crazy and not to blame the rest of the do gooders. And I don't. Everyone makes their own choices in life. Dr. Tiller chose to provide health care to women. Scott Roeder chose to kill Dr. Tiller. We all make choices. Interesting concept since abortion is a choice.

I happen to be pro-choice. It doesn't mean I've had an abortion (I haven't). It doesn't mean I would want an abortion (because I don't). It means I get a choice in my health care, just as every other woman gets a choice. Isn't that what America is about? Freedom and choices.

I commend Dr. George Tiller for practicing medicine every day. I commend him for believing in his cause. I commend him because he never quit just because his life was threatening daily. He believed women deserved a choice in their care and was willing to stick up for them.

Many people say Dr. Tiller will go to Hell for his ways. I wonder though, if you get murdered in church, shouldn't that give him an automatic ticket to Heaven? I think so.
