Look What Fell Out

Book Reports...

Okay, so I am WAY behind on book reports. And I'm not sure if I like doing them. So I'll give you a quick catch up to what I've read in the past few months.

1. When Did I Get Like This?. Only the first 20 pages were good. The rest was crappy.

2. Friendship Bread: A long book, but well worth it. It takes Amish Friendship bread to a new level.

3. Peony in Love: weird, creepy book. Still not sure I'd recommend it.

4. A Place of Yes: If you like Bethanny Frankel...READ THIS BOOK!!! It's awesome. If you don't know much about her..READ THE BOOK ANYWAY. She is one smart lady.

5. Bossypants: Hmm...okay. I'm not a huge Tina Fey fan.

6. Mockingjay: the final in the Hunger Games series. Loved this book. Loved the series. Run out and read them.

That made my life easier. :)

This is What Happen When L Sleeps Well...

She wakes up in a great mood! She was so happy this morning (partly because daddy was coming home that night). She wanted her hair "did". We made pigtail buns.
Sweet and sassy at the same time.
What a beautiful girl.

Camping at Fall River 2011

Camping at Fall River was wonderful. The weather was great. Cool and cloudy on Saturday and Monday and hot on Sunday. Perfect for relaxing and then perfect for the kiddos to go swimming.

Helen was the youngest of the campers at a mere 8 months old. She stole the show. The kids fought over who was going to play, feed and lay with her. She's such a happy baby.
On Sat. afternoon, we went fishing. The kids didn't catch anything...it was a little windy. But we had a great time.
L and Helen hanging out.
L eating tons of strawberries. She could live on that fruit.
Dan wanted to teach L to ride her bike without training wheels. She did pretty well, until it came time to put her feet on the pedals. She couldn't get the hang of looking forward instead of looking at her feet. So she asked to have the trainers put back on. I think with some practice, she'll be back at Dan's house in a couple months with the trainers off.
It was such a relaxing weekend. I think we've done this so many times that camping feels effortless. I love that feeling!! We had great meals and smores by the fire every night. We watched "How to Train Your Dragon" with the projector and screen. I got a little reading in and slept great. What a fun weekend.

L Got Her Ears Pierced!

Yesterday, we went to Claire's at the mall to get L's ears pierced. She's been wanting this for awhile and I didn't really have any objections. Here she is smiling big before the piercing.
The lady marks her earlobes where the gun will go.
There are two staff members piercing her ears at the same time. One went in a little crooked so I had them redo it. There were a few tears.
Sucking on her lollipop to calm the pain. Once she looked in the mirror though, she was all SMILES! She loves her earrings and so do I.

Wow, I Stink at Blogging

You know what, May is a horrible month for blogging. L is finishing school, Jeff is finishing school, graduating another year of kids and the weather gets warmer so I'm not in the house as much. And my 10 days of sickness didn't help. But hopefully these next few posts will update you as to what we've been doing.

Ballerina Girl

She was wonderful in her recital last night. The best one out there!

Tanganyika Wildlife Park

I got a Groupon for Tanganyika Park so we decided to head out one Sunday in May. The park was really nice. Even though there were a ton of people, it wasn't crowded. L got to feed the lemurs.
She rode a camel.....
Fed some really hungry goats...
And fed nectar to some sweet birds.
She was so patient feeding them nectar.

Dinner with Henry

My grandpa's brother flew in from Arizona a couple weeks ago. He spent several days in Wichita with his son, Hank, and my grandparents came over for the day. We were invited to have dinner with Henry, Hank, Debbie, Nick and Randy. Dinner was wonderful! We got to visit for a couple hours and L had a great time entertaining everyone.

Last Day of School

She looks so happy now that kindergarten is over. She loved her first year of school and thought her teacher was the best!
