Metal Monday: Winter Rock

On January 5, 2019, I ran the winter rock 15k. To be honest, there was more walking than running. Flat rock is a beautiful trail. And the weather was gorgeous! It was 52° outside! Melissa, Deena and I had a blast! 

Sit Back Sunday

I’m starting a new weekly post that recaps my week of running. 

Sunday: went to foam rolling class (oh it was painful) and ran my mile in the treadmill 

Monday: ran 3.62 miles. My legs were tired. 

Coffee with Mel

Tuesday: ran a mile by my house. 

Wednesday: supposed to do an incline walk/run. Ran my mile and then my foot started to hurt. So I bailed after 2 miles. 

Thursday: 4 mile run out west with Melissa and Emma. We had a snow storm Wednesday so the sidewalks were still iffy. 

Friday: ran my mile on the treadmill at lunch. 

Saturday: 15 miles on the indoor track at the Y. It was good but mind numbing. 

That’s my runs this week! 

Caturday 2/23/19

A day late! Here’s what the girls are up to! 

They are begging for treats which are are in the cubby. 

Lauryn was home and AJ snuck into her room and snuggled into the big teddy bear. 

This girl! She follows me everywhere! I’m not allowed to go into the bathroom by myself! 

 She also reads the paper!

And then there’s this doll face! 

They have a good week! More next Saturday. 

(Temporary Backup) Caturday: 2/9/19 edition

The girls have been busy! It’s a hard job to play, sleep and eat. J and L had a snow day and AJ was exhausted at the end of the day!! 

Marathon Monday

So I haven’t posted about the Dallas Marathon which I participated in on December 9th.  It was my fifth marathon and the second time I’ve ran Dallas. 

First stop: the expo. I went with three other ladies and met one there (she lives in Houston). 

We shopped and signed the wall

And then had a delightful supper. Chicken and mashed cauliflower. 

The weather was nice Saturday which is good because I was afraid it wasn’t going to be good. There had been threats of ice earlier in the week. 

Flat is! 

Race Day!! I was ready to tackle this marathon on!

The views during the race are great! There are neighborhoods with all sorts of displays. And a piano player!




My time was 6:12:44. My worst time. My feet really hurt at the end.  The road was broken in spots so we did a lot of switching sides. For the first time ever, I had a blood blister on my toe. I still had a ton of fun though! 

Caturday 1/12/19

Okay-I’m not sure where this week went!!! Geez-I haven’t posted all week. Let’s see what the girls were up to this week. 

Scully and L took a nap together.  L said she laid down and told Scully they didn’t have to sleep but she was out in a minute!

They are all loving sleeping on our laps. It’s amazing how we can get them all in one seat

Today, it snowed so no running. Someone is currently loving this!! 

Caturday 1/14/19

The girls have had a good week! Christmas vacation means lots of people home! They were smiling from ear to ear! 

Scully found a new spot to sleep! She deemed it wonderful! 

Until it was time to nap with L. She’s always up for hanging out with her bestie! 

Today I was gone most of the day. AJ was very lonely. She has been by my side all evening !
