Rain, rain go away....

Okay, I appreciate the rain, but geez...now it's just plain annoying. It's icky outside. We didn't even go out for dinner. The pool is a mess. It overflowed and now the patio has extra water on it. And it won't stop!!!! Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

My mom and dad arrived safely this morning. We had a quick lunch at Margarita's. Very yummy. They shopped around this afternoon and then we hung out at home watching the L show. LOL. That girl loves to show off for everyone. She's such a cutie pie!!!

Tomorrow we are shopping at Michael's for streamers for L's wagon for the July 4th parade. We also need to get some fireworks this weekend. I hope L isn't too scared of them.

I'm off to read more on "The Amateur Marriage". This book is really good and a quick read. Which is good since I need to finish it soon and start on my book club book.

Happy Friday!!!

It's Official!!!

Jeff is changing careers. He is going to be the journalism advisor covering the newspaper and yearbook at Wichita South High School. He's been the marketing production coordinator at Via Christi Wichita Health Network for the past two years. He enjoys his job there and we've had tons of fun talking health together at night. But his love is to teach. This opportunity popped up this summer and after much thought, Jeff felt it was time to get into full time teaching. I know he's going to be a wonderful teacher. And he'll get to spend more time with L (think 10 week summer vacation).

Weekly update

This week has been flying by...and I'm loving it!! We went swimming one evening this week and bicycling another day. I finally have recovered from my sinus infection so life is good.

My parents will be here in two days!!! Yeah!!!!!! I don't know what we'll do...I have food planned and I'm sure we'll do a little shopping. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can swim. L can show off her new swim tricks.

On a sad note, Jill's grandma passed away last Sat. And T's cat, Slash, passed away Sunday morning.

That's about it for now.

What a sweetheart!!

One day last week, I received a fire engine full of beautiful flowers!! Jeff sent them to me because I wasn't feeling well (I had a sinus infection). He's so sweet and thoughtful!! It made my day so much better.

Happy Father's Day!

Jeff's mom and dad were in town for Father's Day. We had a great visit (read in my earlier posts). L had fun hanging out with her favorite guys.

Swim babe

L loves to play in the water. She had fun hanging out with Daddy in the pool loungers.

Roar!!!

Jeff, L, T and I all went to the Sedgwick Co. zoo Sat. We had a great time. It was very hot outside but we found places to cool off. The penguins were cool and were swimming all over the water. We especially liked the lions. L and the lion sat so close to each other with just a glass partition between them. It was so cool!! L talked to him as if he was her buddy. She posed with one of the chimps (statue). We saw bats (grandma Steier's favorite), snakes, lizards and elephants. I think L liked them all!

Quick weekend news...

Hello all.

Jeff's parents were in town this weekend. Nancy and I had a great time clothes shopping (I absolutely love Steve and Barry's). We had a wonderful dinner at Stroud's. Stroud's is one of my favorite places to eat that we never go to. I don't know why, but I hardly ever think about eating there.

We played softball Sunday and we were doing pretty well...until the blasted storm rolled in. It poured for five minutes, completely soaked the fields and we lost the game because they called it from the weather. That sucked!!!!

Oh well, we had a good time the rest of the day. We had steak and potatoes for Jeff (Father's day special), and we went on an hour long bike ride.

On a sad note, Jill's grandma has been ill. Keep her in your thoughts and hopefully grandma will get better.

Only 11 more days until my parents are in town. YIPPEEE!!!!!!

Big Girl Bed

Oh My Gosh!!! L loves her new bed!!! She screamed, "it's my bed, it's my bed." For two weeks, she would shriek in joy about her bed. And I'm impressed, she has only gotten out of bed once. She loves the comforter and night light. If you come over, she'll be happy to show it to you!

Time Flies!!

Sorry so long since my last post. I promised myself in the beginning I wouldn't go more than a week without blogging and here it's been 10 days. Yipes!

L has really enjoyed the pool this summer. We changed pool companies this year and this is the first time it's been blue in early June!! It's a little chilly, but L loves it. She loves to climb up and down the stairs.

I did it!!

That's L's favorite saying (she loves Dora!) and she loves her new bed. Every time she walks in her room she screams, "it's my bed!!"

Well, I did almost everything I had planned this weekend. The house is cleaned (although I broke the belt on the vacuum),the clothes ironed. I called and webcamed with my parents. L and I went for a 2 mile walk and also went to the park. I scrapbooked the snow pages AND made a card (I know, overachiever). I didn't get the fish pond cleaned out, but I did get L's closet cleaned out so now I can actually open it. YEA!!!

Wichita State Shockers are in the news!! The baseball team won the regional division of the tourney. We watched Sat. night and Monday night games. Last night was unbelieveable!! There were over 7000 people there and the place was loud. My ears were ringing after it was over. The Shockers will host the super regional this weekend. We'll try to watch one of the games.

What a day!!!

We had a busy day. L and I went to the local bookstore and found several books. We had happy meals (and Shrek toys) at Mickey D's. We went to a dance recital. L had so much fun. She loved the music and dancing and clapped really loud for everyone.

When we got home, daddy had put together her big girl bed. She screamed in excitement!!! It's a Dora bed!! She is so excited. Just hope she sleeps well in the bed.

We watched Arizona beat New Orleans at the NCAA baseball tourney. The weather was perfect for watching a game.

I love summer!

Scrapbooking

Okay, so I haven't talked about my hobby/obsession much. I love to scrapbook. Today at lunch I stopped at my LSS and got some really cute and colorful brads. They are going to look awesome on L's birthday pages. The LSS has the new elsie line. The ribbon was cute and I got a couple pieces of paper, but overall it wasn't as exciting as I thought it might be. Gotta get back to work!

To Dos....

This weekend will be busy, but I'm determined to get some things done
*clean the house
*iron all the clothes
*talk to my parents
*go on a 2-3 mile walk
*scrapbook...I have snow pictures that are already layed out and need to be completed
*clean out the fish pond

I'll let you know Monday how much I accomplished

Geez...

It's a good thing I exercise in the morning. Jeff said the jackhammer started going at 6:30 in the MORNING!!! Who gets up that early to make so much noise? He said, "if I made that much noise this early, the police would be out". Oh well, the road will be better (I keep telling that myself every day). One of the fun things about all this work is showing L all the machines. She thought the jackhammer was cool!

****

Speaking of exercising, I just completed my 9 week goal for exercising 5 times a week. I'm so excited!! I've lost 6 pounds and gained a lot of muscle. I can carry L everywhere without feeling exhausted. I'm going to start my next 9 week goal next week.
