Getting My Jam On

Last week we went to a friend's house for a Jamberry party. They are heat and stick on nails and easily come off and last a couple weeks. I had gotten some this summer but I wasn't patient (I know you're shocked) and I didn't like them. I learned some new techniques which were super helpful.
Here's my Frenchie:

And L's camo (hers turned out super cute):

Shockers for the Win!

We headed out on this glorious 64 degree day to watch the Shockers blow Tulsa out of the arena. 75-55.

The face painting lady was back again today. She loves L because L is so patient.

Reggie's Favorite Day

Today was Reggie's favorite day of the year...the day we put up the tree. I kicked the dogs outside (it was 55 degrees) and brought her downstairs. She was such a happy girl. She started off hanging out in the bag while I got the limbs out.

Then she came over to supervise me putting up the tree.

After it was up, she got bored, sat in the bag again and then headed upstairs for a nap in L's bed.
The tree looks beautiful.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent yesterday at my grandparents. We had a nice lunch at Sirloin Stockade. We visited for awhile and watched sports.

L danced for us.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

New Snacks

I'm always looking for new healthy snacks. I found some: dried chickpeas. I've made them in the oven. These were good and less work!

Delicious Brisket

I have been looking for a good crockpot brisket for awhile. Brisket is a great cut of meat to cook, but can dry out.
I found this recipe on Six a Sisters blog. It's called Sweet and Tangy Brisket. And it is soooo good.
Basically, you caramelize onions, add some garlic and spices. Place over the brisket. Mix a sauce of chili sauce, ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Cook it for 10 hours.

Then refrigerate it overnight. That's right, you don't get to eat it that night. The next night you cook it for an hour in a 300 degree oven.

It is the best brisket I've had.

Weekly Chase #11

Road Runner Girl

Hello!  What a crazy week last week was.  Unfortunately, I got a little SAD (seasonal affective disorder) with the dark nights and cold temperatures.  I went to church yesterday and lifted out of my funk.

Last week's recap:

1. Exercise 6 days: made it 4 days.

2. Stretch daily: 6 days.

3. Kettleball: again, didn't do anything.

4. Finish 2 books.  Did this!!  I only have 3 books to meet my goal of 52 books this year.

This week:

1. Exercise 5-6 days including a long run of 10 miles.

2.  Stretch daily

3. Kettle ball exercises 2 times for 10 minutes each.

4. Put up the Christmas decorations

5.  Clean out the garage.  We desperately need to get it cleaned up to put the cars in the garage.

6. By a shovel for the snow this winter.

Shocker Blow Out

The Shocks played Newman and blew them out of the arena. We had a fun time!

Hip Hop Craziness

L loves her hip hop class. At the end of the class they dance to 'Shake it Off'. L is in her element. She is so animated.

What a Bum

All weekend she has spent here. She's been sleeping hard. I've surprised her a couple times.

Ice Skating

L and I found a new activity to us: ice skating. We went with Mary and her two of her kids for open skate afternoon. I hadn't skated since high school.

Max was unsure in the beginning.

Then they all were more adventurous.

The girls had a blast.

Heck, I had a good time. It was fun. I fell down twice but didn't hurt myself. I'm really tired today. I'll sleep good.

It Snowed!!!!

I think we got three inches. It was coming down heavy this morning.

Big Hero 6

Saturday night we went to see Big Hero 6. It was a really good movie.

L's bestie and her family happened to be watching the same movie so we sat with them. It was funny listening to the girls sob at the sad part.

Chilly Run

Saturday was long run day. And I am glad I picked it because it snowed today. Six miles on the schedule. 22 degrees, felt like 18. It actually wasn't too bad.

Pretty gray all day.

Funny Story

I didn't realize until I read yesterday's blog post and the BLOW UP PHOTO (argh.  I hate how blogger does that sometimes) how weird L's smile is.  She had just gotten a tooth filled and a baby tooth pulled (it was wiggly but she babies her teeth and the permanent tooth was irritating her gum because it wanted to come in).  Anyhoo....she was such a big girl and got two shots of novacaine and did well.  She didn't even need me to hold her hand.  The numbing stuff lasted for a few hours and every time she'd laugh, only one side would go up.  It was too funny (for me.  She thought it was mean when I'd laugh at that).

Kitty City

The Humane Society has an area called Kitty City where they have a few friendly cats in a big area and you can pet them. L wanted to go visit while she was off from school Monday.
L's favorite was Isabella. She's such a sweet girl.

So tolerant. She will make a great cat for someone.

Beautiful Kansas Sunset

These photos were taken over a 20 minute time span on our way home from KC. And no, I wasn't driving.
