Fitness Friday July 31

The run streak continues! Today we finished 68 days. Tami had a PR of 9:18! It was a bit cooler Wednesday through Friday morning which was nice.

Saturday: quick run with the ladies and then we walked.

Sunday: ran by myself. Totally didn't want to go but there's no stopping me.

Monday:
Ran campus before a Shocker Fitness and Extreme.

Tuesday: long campus run.

Wednesday: cooler temp (73 instead of 80) before SF and extreme

Thursday: we ran and watched a cool lightening show. We only saw one deer eating breakfast. But we were rewarded with this gorgeous skyline.

Friday: great run before SF to celebrate the end of the week!

Weekly Chase: July 27th Edition

Ever had a week where nothing really went as planned?  That was my week.  I was overexhausted after my weekend at the lake and coupled with tournament softball games, a concert, and many late nights, last week's chase didn't pan out.
But I will recap:

1. Run daily.  Yes! I finished day 64 this morning.  Still going strong.
2. Stretch: once.  By Sunday I was feeling my "no stretching" days.
3. Read daily.  Nope.  But once my week calmed down (Sunday), I read quite a bit.
4. Work on Project Life.  Nope.  I only went to the basement to clean.
5. Write in my planner daily-sort of.  I was a couple days behind, but got caught up.  I did keep up on my to do list.
6. Get the pool/house in tip top shape.  Yes!  The backyard is done and we had a wonderful gathering Saturday.

This week's chase:
1. Run Daily
2. Stretch several times this week
3. Write in my planner
4. Maintain a daily to do list
5. Read daily
6. Work on clean eating.

And I've added two Habits (more on this later): 1. drink three protein shakes in a week 2. drink 5 bottles of water a day

The Cabin

This past weekend we went with our friends to Shell Knob at Table Rock. The cabin is 3 bedrooms, one bath, kitchen and living room. Small but so comfortable.

I love this pallet flag that greets you.

Off the deck. The water was really high from a recent storm so we couldn't swim.

Fitness Friday: July 24th

Ever had a week that was so fun but so crazy you were left exhausted? That was my week. But I kept up with my streak so I'm happy!!
Here goes:
Saturday: first day at Table Rock. The hills are awful and it was so hot. The lake by the cabin is awesome!

Sunday: Hill 2, Kathryn 0. Oh well. I got it done.

Monday: last day of Missouri hills. Hill 2, Kathryn 1. I walked up the hill for warm up then ran down it.

Tuesday: so happy to be back with my friends. I love running with them.

Wednesday: we watched a concert in Salina the night before so I slept in a bit then ran around the neighborhood. The temps had dropped 5 degrees which was nice.

Thursday: hot and humid at the park. Saw a mama doe.

Friday: still hot but my time was better (took off 50 seconds from Thursday). So glad for the weekend!!

Fitness Friday! 7/17/15

This week was very hot (think 74-80 degrees at 5:15 AM), humid (but no rain) and the skeeters were AWFUL!!! I have so many bites from Wednesday (and that was after spraying). After some research, a combo of insect repellent lotion, spray and dryer sheets seemed to do the trick.
Here's the recap:
Saturday: what an awesome time for me!!!

Sunday: a quick recovery run.

Monday: back at Shocker Fitness with my friends.

Tuesday: the sky was interesting. I love the beautiful sunrises we get to see.

Wednesday: trust me...we were not this happy.

Thursday: our baby fawns are getting bigger. They are so sweet.

Friday: hot day and a new mile route. Times have been decent this week-usually 10:05.

South High Titan 10K

Today was the annual Titan 10K. I have a love/hate relationship with it. The weather is so hot it's not a lot of fun to run an hour plus. But today I made the course my B.
L and I before I ran

My time!! Officially I finished in 68:00. This is 5 minutes faster than 3 months ago (sun Run) and 9 minutes faster than last years Titan race !

L ran the mile. She did really well.

She finished strong in under 11 minutes.

Two happy girls!

Fitness Friday!

I almost forgot it is Friday!! The running streak has continued.

Saturday: my epic 29:52 5K!!

Sunday: Recovery run with the ladies. I love them!

Monday: Slept in so it was a quick mile around home.

Tuesday: it was pouring outside so my mile was on the treadmill.

Wednesday: another missed the alarm day. But I still got up and ran before work.

Thursday: my favorite day of the week. Running with my friends and we saw this deer so close (no zoom necessary).

Friday: a quick mile. Trying to stay calm for Saturday's 10K race.

The First Fair

It's 4H fair week!!!! And we are spoiled because the weather couldn't be better.
L took cookies, a blanket and a bag for foods and clothing this year. I tried to make it simple and not overwhelming for her first year. On the drive over, L was so quiet. I tried to pep her up but she was so nervous about the judging. I thought we should do foods first. She made lemon crinkle cookies. The judging went great and she walked away with a blue.
Next up: clothing. We had to wait for a judge but the nerves were down a little. She showed her bag first and GOT A PURPLE!!!! She was thrilled. Her blanket got a blue ribbon. Now she gets to take her bag to the state fair. I don't think her smile could get any bigger.

L and her yummy cookies.

After the judging, we were starved so we found the shortest line: pronto pups. We walked around and saw different things to turn in to give her ideas for next year.
We finished the night with a couple rides.

The fair was epic!!

4th of July

We had an excellent day! It started off with my spectacular 5K time. Then we invited the Konda's and Loving's over for swimming and lunch.
What a beautiful spread.

After a quick rest, we headed to the Loving's for supper and fireworks. L shot off a lot of fireworks herself.

She's such a ham

The fireworks

Sparkler time!

It was a wonderful day!
