Weekly Chase: Week 41

Another week in the books.  It's been eventful.  On Friday, L slammed her second toe on the left foot in the front door.  She said it hurt really bad (which I thought it would).  We were resting that night any way.  The next morning she woke up when I got up to say she hadn't slept well because of the pain.  I had to take Oreo and Lucy to the vet for their annual appt.  They passed their exams (although Lucy needs a teeth cleaning).  When I got home, I took L to the ER and the nice physician gave her Lortab which made the pain go away (thank the Lord!!).  He felt her toe was broken, buddy taped it and put her in a shoe cast.

So I cancelled dance for Saturday and she chilled out this weekend.  Sunday, I went and cheered my friend Vanessa on to her first full marathon.  That was a lot of fun!!  It's nice being on the other side!
L was feeling better so we got mani/pedicures (not rubbing on that toe).

I found out today it's not broken.  It probably got jammed.  So we are keeping up with the treatment and hopefully she will be back to dance soon!

Onto the weekly chase!

1. Run a mile a day:Yes!!  I finished Day 505!!

2. Stretch and ice daily: 1/2 the time

3. Pray daily: Yes

5. Log my calories daily: Yes.  And I have been working on my macros (more on that this week)

6. Finish a book: No

7. Journal every day:80% of the time

8. Make a running plan-no but I am close to getting that done

Fitness Friday 10/7/16 Edition

It's Friday, it's Friday!!  It's been a busy week at work and semi busy at home, but I feel like life stayed in control this week, FTW!!  I hit day 500 in the middle of the week.  We didn't celebrate it.  It's a milestone, but I'm still going strong.

Onto Fitness Friday workouts!
Friday: one mile plus walking after dropping L off on the bus

Saturday: I was at Linda's for the weekend scrapbooking.  I ran around the lake for a nice two mile jaunt.

Sunday: I opted for a mile around Linda's neighborhood.  The weather sure is nice!

Monday: mile plus bootcamp with Mandy

Tuesday:  I ran with my MRTT group.  They are a fun bunch of ladies! Oh and Deena's husband, Brett.  I got a nice pep talk after our run

Wednesday: day 500! We ran our mile in fog and then went to bootcamp

Thursday:  mile plus bootcamp again.  I really like strength training at Go Time!

What's Up Wednesday (WUW) -Run for the Rocks

A long time ago, I decided it would be good to do a mid week post. And then I'm not sure what happened. But I'm trying to get back in the swing of things. This week I'm going to talk about my recent 1/2 marathon.
We ran Run for the Rocks in Hutchinson. I hadn't run here before. It was a first for Deena, Brett, Mandy, Vanessa, Mel and I.
It was chilly with a chance of rain to start out with. We rode the bus from the finish line to the start.

And then we found this wonderful shed to stay warm in because we were 45 minutes early!

Start photo: we are cold!

The race was fantastic. The route was a paved trail along a park. It was so beautiful and FLAT!! I ran by myself most of the race which is fine by me. I had tunes to carry me through!
I got to mile 12 and I knew I wasn't going to PR but I thought I could beat my second best time of 1:35. But as I was about to finish, I found Deena, Mandy and Brett. Deena had gotten ill at mile 10 so I walked it in with them.

Beautiful day for a run-63 degrees and cloudy!

Cute metal!

I was proud of my time. Officially it was 2:37:50

Guest Caturday!

So I'm at Linda's and the residents there wanted to be featured!
Here's Cagney waiting for his food. He's always hungry and you can see they don't feed him much! Ha ha!!

And then there is Lily. Resident troublemaker. She's trying to help me while I plan my week.

And play with my phone cord

So then I decided to distract her with ribbons. She totally bought it!!

I was crafting a box. I went to lunch and when I came back down, someone thought it was for them. Silly girl.
