Hot Chocolate 15K Denver

So the real reason we came to Denver was to run! Ragan and I had our outfits coordinated and we woke up plenty early to snag a good spot and check out the port a potties. [side note, when I was a kid I would NEVER go to the bathroom if the toilet didn't flush. Thank goodness I outgrew that weird stage].

We watched the 5K athletes take off.

Some selfie time!

The course was wonderful! Other than two small hills, it was downhill or flat the entire way. The support (neighborhood people cheering and volunteers) were outstanding. It seemed to fly by. At each water station there was a sweet treat (chocolate chips, strawberry or chocolate marshmallows and tootsie rolls). We finished 2:08:07.

After checking out the post race party and our metals, we got our finisher's mug which had the best hot chocolate as well as pretzels, Rice Krispie treat, graham crackers and more AND more chocolate to dip in it. Delish!

Seriously though, I would highly recommend this race.
