Jeff and I really wanted to go to a luau. So we decided to go to the best. On our last night in Maui, we went to the luau. We were lucky to get seats and then discovered we had front row traditional mat seats. It was wonderful!! They have an open bar so everyone tried to get sloshed before the event started.
We had a little
pre dinner entertainment. The buffet: very interesting. There was
Kalua Pua'a (roasted pig): very good. Poi: yuck.
Mahi Mahi: yummy, island chicken was also good. Their sweet potatoes are purple and not tasty. They also had good veggies and fruit but two raw fish salads which I passed on.
The hula dancers were great. They had an endless number of costumes and the story was very good. We were grateful to see such a good performance.
Definitely a must do if you go to Hawaii.
